HOW KYBELLA® WORKS

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. WHAT HAPPENS IF I GAIN WEIGHT?

HOW LONG BEFORE I SEE RESULTS?

Results from Kybella™ injections are typically gradual. Targeted fat cells are usually removed from the area within four to six weeks after receiving injections, at which point patients start to see a noticeable difference to the appearance of their profile.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?

The reaction of the Kybella™ the fat causes swelling. The swelling peaks at 24 hours and then get gradually better. At DLMA we have you return in 1 week for radio frequency treatment. RF helps with skin tightening and speeds healing by improving blood flow and lymph drainage. Most patients tolerate this procedure very well. As with any injection, there is always a risk of some swelling and tenderness to the touch, that is generally dependent on the amount of subcutaneous fat that was treated and typically resolves in 7-10 days. Other side effects can include bruising and temporary numbness.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

The number of treatments required will vary significantly from person to person. An average of 2-4 treatments are typically needed. It takes about 4 weeks to begin to see the results from a treatment, and treatments are typically spaced about 6 weeks apart. Typically, the amount of product needed for each treatment will decrease for subsequent treatments.
