What is Dysport?
Dysport is an injectable neurotoxin that contains botulinum toxin type A. It is used to temporarily reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles. Dysport is commonly used to treat frown lines (glabellar lines) between the eyebrows but can also be applied to other areas for cosmetic and medical purposes.
In addition to its aesthetic uses, Dysport is FDA-approved to treat certain medical conditions, such as cervical dystonia (a neurological condition that causes neck muscle spasms) and spasticity in adults and children.
How does it work?
It works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles, preventing excessive contractions. The effects typically last around 3 to 4 months, though this can vary from person to person.
How soon will I see results?
Initial results can appear in 2–3 days, with full effects in about 10–14 days.
Is Dysport safe?
Yes, when administered by a qualified professional. It is FDA-approved for both cosmetic and medical uses.
Can Dysport be used for other areas besides wrinkles?
Yes, it’s used for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), migraines, TMJ, and muscle spasms.
Can I exercise after Dysport?
It’s recommended to avoid exercise for 24 hours to prevent the product from spreading.
