Laser Hemangioma, Port Wine Stain & Spider Vein Removal
Hormonal and genetic factors lead to the appearance of various blood vessels in the skin. Port Wine Stains are a type of birthmark whereas spider veins (also known as telangiectasias) develop as we age. Hemangiomas can be either.
How does it work?
Our laser targets and heats up hemoglobin inside red blood cells. The heat damages the blood vessels causing them to close and greatly reduced the appearance through the skin.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure usually takes about 10-15 minutes for small spider veins and hemangiomas.
However, for Port Wine Stains, expect a little longer. We place a topical anesthetic, like lidocaine cream, on the skin prior to the treatment and let it work its magic.
How many treatments do I need?
Laser spider vein removal on the face or neck can usually be treated in 1* session. Larger vessels, especially those vessels on the legs, often require multiple sessions for the results you want.
